"IN THE LAND OF THE WOLF" - Man - Horse - Nature - Balance -
Do not be fooled by its name, for this is a unique horse farm. Unlike the common riding club this farm offers its guests the unparalleled opportunity to come into a close contact with the horses, bond and connect with them, in a rather meditative way, as they roam freely around. Learn about them and see them living and interacting in their natural environment like a herd. Yannis and Efrossini will make you feel like home and will teach you so much about these amazing animals. In Porto Hydra Village there's a playground on Sahara Beach, 5 mins walk from the Dock Villa. There is a basketball, volleyball and tennis court as well. No need to book the tennis court, just go and play.

In Ermioni, there's a playground next to the schools near the sea. There are more toys but sometimes it gets quite dirty. There are more kids around 5pm, not so many during the day.

In Porto Heli there is a huge playground just where the most restaurants/cafes are, so it's a good option when you're visiting Porto Heli with kids.

In Koilada there is another very big playground by the sea, with many nice toys and more kids usually. There are also many restaurants nearby. We like to combine going to this playground with a brunch, sweets or ice cream at Retro Cafe or a seafood lunch at Douglas

Adonis - Kranidi

It's a very lovely gym in Kranidi (10 mins from the Rock Villa, 20 from Porto Hydra) with great atmosphere, not too busy, open Monday-Friday. If you need more info call: +302754022020

Closer to Porto Hydra Village our guests can enjoy going to Barcelo Hotel's gym for a nominal fee of €5. It's a modern gym next to the spa looking at the sea. Very chilled atmosphere, perfect for those seeking to spend their holiday actively.

Usually there is no need to book but to double check, call: +302754098700

Best things to do in Vouliagmeni

Check out our recommendations about Vouliagmeni

Elegant Vouliagmeni has something for everyone. High rollers head to famous Astir on the lush pine-clad peninsula of Mikro Kavouri. Athens’ most expensive beach offers manicured sands, waiter service to your lounger, designer boutiques and fine dining. Central Akti Vouliagmeni is one of the city’s best-groomed municipal beaches and a multi-tasking oasis that caters to all. For €5 entry, you have access to sunloungers, wide grassy strips for picnics and ballgames, tennis and volleyball courts, cafes and a playground, plus an aqua inflatable park.

Locals like to swim for free from the rocky piers outside of En Plo café or Sardelaki. Both provide access to the clear waters of the Vouliagmeni basin. Also free, Limanakia Vouliagmeni is the most popular of a run of rocky coves off the coastal road, just outside of Vouliagmeni. Bronzed locals chill out to music on a sociable deck before leaping into the deep blue sea.

For more "Beach options" check out our collection of the go to beaches in the area!

A visit to Vouliagmeni Lake is a must for anyone seeking tranquility and natural beauty. Renowned for its therapeutic waters, the lake offers an opportunity for a unique swimming experience amidst a breathtaking landscape. The surrounding rock formations become especially stunning around sunset, creating a magical atmosphere. While perfect for a leisurely coffee by the water's edge, the lake's serene environment and warm waters invite you to take a dip and relax in its embrace.

Head to Sounio and get ready for an epic sunset that’s not just Instagram-worthy but genuinely mind-blowing! Imagine chilling out among ancient ruins with the Temple of Poseidon as your backdrop, while the sun dips into the Aegean Sea, lighting up the sky with fiery colors. It’s the kind of view that makes you feel like you’ve stepped into a legendary scene, perfect for wrapping up your day with a cool vibe. Don’t miss out on this ultimate sunset spot – it’s history, nature, and chill vibes all rolled into one unforgettable experience.

Discover the heart of Athens with the convenience and flexibility of a Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour. We specially recommend this tour for those who are in Athens for first time or on a short vacation, so they can see all the most iconic places without much planning.  Explore the city's iconic landmarks, from the majestic Acropolis to the bustling Plaka district, at your own pace. With multiple stops along the route, you can hop off to visit attractions like the Parthenon, the National Archaeological Museum, or the Ancient Agora, and hop back on when you're ready to continue your journey. Whether you're a history buff, a foodie, or simply seeking adventure, the Hop-On Hop-Off bus tour offers an immersive experience that's perfect for travelers of all ages.

If you're staying a bit more than a weekend, visiting a couple of the nearby islands is a wonderful option to spend your time with. Instead of just going to central Athens to see the must visit sights, we highly recommend checking out Aegina or Poros that are both easily accessible by ferry from Piraeus port. You can buy tickets in the port too but we would suggest to book online at least a day in advance to make sure you get the best deal. To learn more about ferries and the trips visit our ferry schedules page.

For Latin Lovers:

Dive into the vibrant Latin scene when visiting Athens by hitting up some of the city’s hottest spots for Latin parties. Places like Fuego in Nea Smirni and Yabanaki Beach transform into energetic hubs where the rhythms of salsa, bachata, and reggaeton take over the night. And let’s not forget the weekly Latin nights at Bolivar Beach Bar, where the sand, sea, and beats create an irresistible combo. Whether you’re a dance enthusiast or just looking to soak in the lively atmosphere, these spots offer a taste of Latin flair right in the heart of Greece. Get ready to move, groove, and experience Athens’ nightlife at its most electrifying.

For Greek music lovers:

There are several beach bars all along the coastline that worth a visit if someone is on partymood, like Akanthus, Penarrubia, Bolivar or closer to our apartments our favorites are Holy Spirit Beach Bar on Yabanaki beach and Island Club & Restaurant in Vari.

In central Athens there are several night clubs around "Kerameikos" metro station in Gazi area. It is just a good walk away from Monastiraki square, the heart of the center.

By our experience Athens is one of the best cities regarding rooftop lounge bars & restaurants. There are scenic views from every rooftop bar, there are great vibes, good cocktails & nice service on almost every rooftop we have tried. They are not in Vouliagmeni, but we guess you wouldn't mind spending an evening in Athens once visiting.

Our favorite rooftop bars are:

One of our favorite activity is to have a beach workout that you can literally do anywhere (On Yabanaki there's a huge group going every week) but here are a few recommendations for more organized workout opportunities:

If you're a pilates person and would like to keep fit while on holidays, we recommend trying out NewTone studio. It's located in Voula, just a few mins ride from our apartments and they have a very nice studio with professional pilates equipment.

For athletics and outdoor workout visit this park in Glyfada.

If you'd like to have a spa experience with pool and maybe do some gym workout, Holmes Place in Glyfada would be your place!

If you're a gym person, you'll love Mega Gym in Glyfada due to its size and variety of machines and classes.

The nearest one is a 10 mins walk from the apartments, where there are actually two huge playgrounds, onw for younger kids like toddlers and one for bigger children. Right next to it there's a cafe where you can sit while supervising kids. There's also a great supermarket, pharmacy and bakery next to it.

The other playground in Vouliagmeni is also walkable but a bit further, better to go by car. Also very big, closer to the cafeterias.

If you do have a car, we recommend checking out the playground in Varkiza, 5 mins drive away. It is very nice by the sea with a huge wooden ship. It's also nice for a walk by the sea. There are many restaurants/cafes to combine this walk with.
